... Lovely night

After leaving Stephen's, I went to Aliona's place for a little get together. Should not have brought any more booze as there were two pots of sangria for five people. Everyone was quite happy towards the end, and we still had almost a full pot left. Fun, laidback night overall.
And the prancing begins.
Bootie shots.
Kim's almighty sangria.
My favourite salt shaker - SeƱor.
Sangria kicks in.
Yup. Definitely kicked in.
Apparently we like to match.
Burning of the love letter. #4?
Bits and pieces.
Don't worry, she's not actually crying.
Yup.

Lovely day ...

This weekend consisted of meeting up with my best friend Kelly for a bit on Friday and then going to see How to Train Your Dragon with Stephen. We ended up seeing it in IMAX 3D which it seems like a lot of movies are being released this way. I guess it is the way of the future. I actually really enjoyed this movie and am glad someone convinced me to go :P
Saturday we went to Harlem Underground for brunch. I read about this restaurant a while back, and after passing by its sister lounge place, Harlem, for months while on my way home from class, decided it was time to check it out. I was not disappointed. I did not take any pictures for whatever reason (still working on that), but will definitely be back for lunch or dinner to try some of their other Southern style recipes. Then we decided to break into Stephen's new office so I could see the place.

Quite enjoyed this blue fire escape.

Then we ventured to Kensington Market for a bit to enjoy the somewhat warm weather and sunshine. I really liked walking around there and cannot wait to be able to do so without the long commute currently involved in any sort of downtown activities.
Banana lollipops I discovered at the Blue Banana market. Fitting.
We saw a bubble making machine in one of the vintage stores. Amazing.
Later on in the evening, we ended up in a bakery called The Sweet Flour in the west end. They serve cookies with the somewhat novel concept of the "make your own" cookie. As in you pick the dough, add the bits and pieces you want, and have them bake it for you. The cookie itself could have been better in my opinion, but it was kind of fun being able to make your own. I liked the whole ambiance of the place as well. Then we went back to Stephen's and made lasagna. It took quite a long time to prepare (or maybe it just seemed like it since I was quite hungry), but it was definitely worth it. It turned out delicious.
White chocolate and Snickers pieces cookie.
Baking ... and baking ...
DONE!
The noodles were spinach ones, that's why they are green.
YUM! :)

Tulips, ribs, and a broken leg

As I am waiting for my group members to send me their info on our project, I figured I might as well upload some pictures from the weekend. My parents left for New York on Wednesday, and I have had the pleasure of having the house to myself for the last five days. Thursday consisted of madly cleaning the entire place, as it was definetely way past due. On Friday, Stephen and I went to Beaches to walk around. It was a beautiful day and everyone and their dog (literally) were out and about enjoying the weather. We ended up at a place called The Beacher Cafe. The food, while it looked tasty, was really not. But it was nice to be able to enjoy eating outside for the first time this year. Cannot wait for more patio weather days!

Bacon onion quiche with caesar salad side. Blah.
Eggs Benjamin. Also blah.
Upon receiving a text from my friend Kim saying that she fell out of a tree, we invited her to my house for ribs. It was later discovered that she did not fall out of one, but rather fell off a log. Close. It was my first time ever making ribs, and I think it went rather well. Everyone seemed to like them. I was worried about having way too many leftovers, but alas there were none :P

My happy little family :)
Beautiful tulips Stephen bought for my house.

On Saturday we went to pick up Stephen's bike from a random lady whose ad we found on Craigslist. Her neighbourhood in Scarborough was very bizare; all of the streets had the name "Ben" in them. For example, she lived on Ben Alder, and connected to it was Benleigh, Benshire, Benlark, Benlight, and others. I found it extemely amusing these streets all ran into each other. Then we ventured northwest to Lake Scugog in Port Perry; a lake I found on the map and decided we must go see. The drive was nice, and I enjoyed having our little prepacked lunch by the lake.

I'm still trying to figure out how to post things properly. Mostly just the position of pictures in relation to text and the like. I find that on my computer the post looks fine, but on another it is completely scewed. I guess I'll have to play around with the templates and hopefully find one that makes this whole process faster and move convenient.
